Johnson Matthey Catalysts introduce a NEW lower nickel catalyst
The Chemical Catalysts business is happy to introduce to their portfolio a new lower nickel catalyst. PRICAT 9953 is an active nickel catalyst on a silica support, suspended in a hardened vegetable oil and then formed into pellets. It is used for the hydrogenation of fatty acids derived from vegetable and animal oils. The catalyst has a lower nickel content (19 wt%) than the industry standards (22 wt%), but an activity that is at least comparable. It gives good hardening results under various working conditions, even at relatively low pressure, and it displays high poison resistance. PRICAT 9953 has good stability against fatty acid dissolution and has good filtration characteristics. The pellets allow safe and simple handling of the catalyst. more ...
